Styrax officinalis (26939 octets)
Deciduous large shrub up to 7 m high in the wild. Leaves alternate, ovate, 3-7 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, glabrous and dark green above, whitish tomentose beneath. Base rounded. Inflorescences in terminal drooping clusters in April-May. 3 to 6 white flowers, slightly fragant, about 3 cm across. Corolla with 5 to 7 lobes. Fruit rounded, fleshy, tomentose. Hardy if planted in a sheltered position.
