Small to medium sized tree with flaking bark and glabrous shoots. Leaves ovate to obovate, shortly acuminate. Flowers white, solitary in leaf axils, 5 to 7 cm across, cup shaped, antheres bright yellow. Prefers light acid, fresh soil.
