Stewartia monodelpha (29915 Bytes)
Small to medium sized tree with flaking bark and hairy twigs. Leaves 4-6 cm long ovate to lanceolate, dentated. Flowers white, during July and August, 3 to 4 cm across, cup shaped, antheres violet. Fruits, egg-shaped. Prefers light acid, fresh soil.
