Deciduous tree up to 12-15 m high with hairy twigs. Leaves obovate to elliptic but various. 5-10 cm long with 4 lobes on every side. Lamina dark-green above, glabrous, pale-green and tomentose beneath. Petiole 5-10 mm long. Fruits in 1-4 clusters, acorns egg-shaped, 1.5-2 cm long.
