Deciduous small spiny shrub 1,5-2 m high with gray arching twigs. Leaves alternate, linear-oblong, serrate (sometimes entire) 2-6 cm long, 5-15 mm wide, glabrous, light glossy green. 1-3 white flowers with 5 petals, about 1.5-1.8 cm across, at the nodes, in axillary fascicles in April. Fruits globose, dark purplish. Hardy.
