Decidous , in milder climate evergreen shrub, strongly resemble to Laburnum.
Entire leafs, alternate, compound palmate consisting of three, lamina dull green, glabrous above, glaucous underneath, pointed apex, base cuneate, 8 to 10 cm long, 2 cm wide. Petioles 3 cm long, glaucous, remarkable pale spots at base and top. Twigs dark-green, glabrous. Bright, yellow flowers in April/May, 3 cm long, glaucous calyx, outer petals bend backwards.
