Deciduous, small tree with deltoid, sometimes entire, mostly two-lobed leaves, 20 cm wide and 25 cm long, pinnate venation, green above and paler beneath, slightly pubescent. Young leaves reddish, pink. Petioles up to 30 cm long, reddish, pubescent. Flowers in 20 cm long errect, terminal panicles, numerous yellow stamen on single flowers appear in late July.
