The group of the different sorts of Magnolia x brooklynensis are hybrids of Magnolia acuminata and
Magnolia liliiflora. The 'Yellow Bird' is a hybrid of 'Evamaria' (M.acuminata x M.liliiflora)x M.
acuminata var. subcordata. The sort was cultivated in 1967. It is a bush of strong growing with
erect twigs. The large yellow flowers are produced with the leaves over several weeks. It seems to
be the best yellow magnolia.
