A dwarf, evergreen, intensely aromatic shrub with narrow, lanceolate, greyish-green leaves. The flowers are dark-purple or lilac, borne in congested terminal heads during summer. It requires a warm, dry, well drained, sunny and in winter sheltered position. Not as hardy as L. angustifolia.
