Small shrub with polished green pinnate 5-8 cm long leaves. Flowers white in panicels followed by bright red, later when dry, deep brown 1.5 to 2.5 cm round fruits. Only for sheltered positions. Some experiments as an outdoor plant are taken in 1924 near Neustadt an der Weinstraße (DDG Jahresbuch).
