Cotoneaster hummelii (29146 Bytes)
Deciduous shrub about 2.5 m high. Leaves elliptic, 3-9 cm long, 1.5-4 cm wide, dark and shiny green above, paler and slightly hairy on the midrib beneath. Base cuneate, apex acuminate. Inflorescence in May, in nodding clusters on small branch. Fruit pear-shaped, black, about 8-12 mm long, with 3 seeds inside. Quite hardy.
