Cistus x aguilari 'Maculatus' (84920 bytes)
A vigorous plant with large ( ca. 8 cm across) flowers with crimson blotches. The flowers are built in May/June. The shrub has small, a little sticky, ovate to lanceolate leaves. It's a handsome, small shrub, until 1.5 m high. Cistus x aguilari is a natural hybrid of Cistus ladanifer and Cistus populifolius. It's a shrub for dry, sheltered positions in the garden. Only hardy in mild climates.
