Deciduous small spiny shrub 1-2 m high. Young shoots covered at
first by a
white bloom, brown later. Long three-parted spine at each node. Leaves
obovate, glabrous, 1.5-3 cm long, 0.5-1 cm wide, green-blue above, white bloomy
beneath. Apex mucronate. Solitary pale yellow flower, 1.5 cm across, shortly
stalked, in March. Red whitish pruinose fruits. Hardy.
