Alnus nepalensis (25778 Bytes)
A fast growing deciduous tree with opposite, elliptic, short and thick stalked leaves, 20 cm long and 13 cm wide, pinnate venation, serrulate margins slightly recurved, pointed, dull-green above, paler beneath, obvious midrib underneath. Green buds in leaf axils with one brown scale. Young twigs with lenticels. Remarkable older, thick, rugged and corky bark.
