Deciduous tree up to 20 m high. Leaves thin, with 5 to 7 triangular and long acuminate lobes. Lamina light green, 8-15 cm across, glabrous above, with tufts of hairs on veins axils beneath. Base heart-shaped. Foliage turning bright yellow in autumn. Samara 3-5 cm long with spreading wings. Quite hardy, but the tree could produce easily numerous roots suckers.
