Weigelia praecox (40720 octets)
Deciduous shrub. Leaves opposite, sessile, ovate to elliptic, 2-11 cm long, 1.5-6.5 cm wide, pointed at the apex, serrate, downy, light green. Flowers 2.5-4 cm long, grouped in axilary clusters, funnelform-campanulate , dark pink, yellow in the throat, on a long slender stalk. Flowering in April-March. The first species of the genus to bloom. Hardy.
