Parrotia persica (40751 octets)
Deciduous small tree with a beautiful flaky bark. Leaves ovate, oblong or obovate, 6-18 cm long, 3-10 cm wide, dark dull green. Margin wavy on the upper half. Foliage turning yellow or scarlet-red in autumn. Apetalous flowers in clusters in March, about 1.5-2 cm across when completely opened. Numerous conspicuous red anthers surrounded by dark-brown hairy bracts. Hardy.
