Evergreen small shrub about 1 m high. Leaves sessile, fleshy, spathulate to oblong, 2-9 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, puberulent, toothed in the upper half. Terminal flowers about 6 cm across, very late in the year, from October to November. Ligulate flowers white, pistillate ones yellow. Hardy and good for maritime exposure.
