Evergreen massive tree up to 15 m in the wild. Shoots pubescent. Leaves alternate, elliptic to ovate, 4 to 15 cm long, entire, pointed, leathery, glabrous and dark green above, paler and hairy beneath. Flowers greenish-yellow in axillary umbels. Fruit ovate 12 mm, black when ripe.
