Erect and evergreen shrub 2-3 m high. Leaves opposite, elliptic-lanceolate, long acuminate, 5-12 cm long, 2-4 cm wide; dark glossy green above, lighter beneath. Margin entire. Flowers slightly fragant, 1.5 cm long, short stalked, solitary, axillary, yellow-white, petal long acuminate. Flowering in October.
