Small deciduous shrub. Young twigs purplish and tomentose. Leaves opposite, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, 7-30 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, glabrous. Lamina khaki-green tinted with purplish, yellow glandular beneath. Apex acuminate, margin serrulate above the middle. Small tubular white flowers about 4 mm. Inflorescences in axillary cymes about 3 cm across in July-August. Fruit globose, pink-purple.
