Evergreen shrub or small erect tree. Leaves leathery, entire, ovate, 2-5 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, dark shining, green above, lighter beneath. Apex obtuse to emarginate. Small inconspicuous apetalous flowers in axillary clusters.
