Several additional species of bat fly have been recorded from the La Selva vicinity (Timm et al., 1989), but have not been examined by the authors. These include the following:
Basilia costaricensis (from Myotis albescens); Basilia sp. (from Myotis elegans and Myotis nigricans); Exastinion oculatum (from Anoura cultrata); Nycterophilia parnelli and Trichobius sparsus (from Pteronotus parnellii); Trichobius yunkeri (from Pteronotus parnellii and Mictonycteris daviesi); Trichobius flagellatus (from Lonchorhina aurita); Trichobius macrophylli (from Macrophyllum macrophyllum); Trichobius nr. ethophalalus (from Trachops cirrhosus); Trichobius sp (from Sturnia mordax).
